Abbey Lee.
Abbey Lee has long been my model obsession! She truly is a natural Australian beauty. She seems to model with such ease and flow and i love her uniqueness with her many piercings, tattoos and gap teeth. Amazing!

Song for the Mute
On Tuesday 15th March I attended the 2011 L'oreal Fashion Festival Designer Award runway show. The show was presented by Vogue and supported by Woolmark and showcased some of Australia's new leading designers including Arnsdorf, Bassike, Dress Up, Ellery, From Britten, Laurence Pasquier, Lui Hon and Song for the Mute.
Arnsdorf had some great colours in their line for winter and Ellery followed a predomently white collection, mixing different textures of fabric. Lui Hon continues to amaze me with his unique and intricate designs. Song for the mute were the winners of the award this year. Their mens collection had really interesting and different shapes which i think will bring a new edge to men's dressing this season.

Fashion Full Stop.
Fashion Week. It's one of my favourite times of the year. Every year i get giddy at the first signs of the emerging festival and this year was no different. In fact i felt myself counting down the days to the beginning, having already penciled in a number of dates into my diary including fashion shows, cultural events in the city and exclusive designer sales.
This year with a new creative director, Grant Pearce came a new vision for the fashion festival. So the beginning of fashion week on Monday 14th March was marked by an 'opening ceremony' of sorts with 4000 people packing into the Plenary at the Melbourne Exhibition and Convention Centre for a spectacular show incorporating Australian music, dance and fashion over the past 5 decades. It embodied a real celebration of the whole industry and was entertaining as well as inspiring.
Fashion, dance and music are pretty much my 3 passions in life, so a show incorporating them all was just too much excitement for me. Performances included Guy Sebastian, Marcia Hines and Russell Morris as well as amazing dancing by the Australian Ballet.

Who's that chick?
Oh what a busy couple of weeks it has been with so much happening everyday for me!
Recently i attended the Rihanna concert and my god what an amazing night it was. From the minute she stepped out on stage i knew it was going to be good. From her long straight cherry red hair to her fashionably intricate costumes, i was in awe from start to finish. She truly is an inspiration and has managed to reinvent herself so many times to create a new look and sound as she has developed and grown. She has combined fashion and style with her talent to make her unique amongst the huge array of pop singers. And anyone who has doubts about her live singing ability, i can safely say that she is amazing and has such a strong and unique sound to her voice.
Also another highlight of the night was seeing a guy who had made an extra special effort to make a costume for the concert in the spirit of Rihanna. It consisted of large moulded shoulder pads with gold studs and lights on them. He looked so good, i was a little bit jealous to say the least!

Getting the Ball Rolling...
It begins....my first blog ever!
Ive never written a blog before so i cant promise that it will be perfect to start off but i'm sure i'll get the hang of it soon enough. I'm excited to finally get this up and running and promise to post regularly to keep things interesting.
This will be a collection of exciting social escapades, fashion opinions and my own personal style.
Fashion is the one thing that i am most passionate about and i have so much inspiration and creativity running around inside me that i feel i need somewhere to express myself! So basically this is going to be my canvas of fashion expression.
Hope you enjoy.
